Sembawang Shipyard of SembCorp Marine (SembMarine)
won a S$34 million project to complete, outfit and
commission an offshore dynamic positioning pipe-lay
construction barge.
SembCorp Environmental Management (SembEnviro) entered
into a 30/70 joint venture with Consolidated Plantations,
a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sime Darby, to design,
build, own and operate a biomass waste-to-energy
plant in Tennamaram, Malaysia. |

SembCorp Utilities (SembUtilities) formed a joint
venture to build, own and operate a wastewater treatment
plant in the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park.
SMOE, the offshore engineering division of SembUtilities,
in partnership with Saipem Asia, clinched a S$175
million offshore platform contract in Thailand from
PTT Exploration and Production Public Company.
SembEnviro acquired a 60% equity stake in the waste
collection business of Shanghai Sincere Environmental
Services Co., one of the top three leading environmental
services companies in Pudong, Shanghai for RMB1.8
million (S$400,000). |

SembEnviro entered into a strategic alliance with
Tay Paper Resources, a local paper recycling company,
to regionalise its paper recycling operations. As
part of this alliance, SembEnviro took a 60% stake
in Tay Paper for S$4.7 million.
SembUtilities formed and took a 30% stake in Shanghai
Caojing Cogeneration Company to build, own and operate
a S$725 million 605-megawatt cogeneration plant
in the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park. Once completed,
this will be the largest combined cycle gas turbine
cogeneration power plant in China.
SembUtilities expanded its presence to Europe with
a £87.2 million (S$244.2 million) strategic
acquisition of the assets and business of Enron
Teesside Operations. The business now operating
through SembCorp Utilities UK (formerly SembCorp
Utilities Teesside) establishes SembUtilities as
the worlds leading and largest centralised
utilities provider in the process industry sector.
SembEnviro added a comprehensive cleansing business
to its environmental services portfolio by acquiring
Cleantech Services for S$15 million. |

million contract from Singapores Public Utilities
Board to construct a solids building for housing
sludge processing equipment at the Changi Water
Reclamation Plant. |

stake in Cathay International Water for a total
cash consideration of US$44.8 million (S$77 million).

to offer supply chain management services in South

SembCorp Industries divested its China leisure companies
for $10.9 million in cash.
Jurong Shipyard, a subsidiary of SembMarine, signed
a S$110 million contract to design and build two
units of 2,600 TEU container vessels for Wan Hai

SembMarine's subsidiary Dolphin Shipping Company
formed a joint venture with Pacific Carriers to
operate and service offshore supply boats.
SembEnviro Alex Fraser opened Southeast Asia's first
integrated construction and demolition waste materials
recovery facility in Sarimbun Recycling Park, Singapore.
SembUtilities increased its stake in Nanjing SembCorp
SUIWU from 55% to 75%. The other shareholders are
Singapore Utilities International and Nanjing Chemical
Industrial Park Company, holding 20% and 5% respectively. |

SembCorp Industries completed the sale of its entire
95% stake in RSC (Vietnam) Investments to Collingway
(Vietnam). This resulted in a gain of S$8.6 million. |

SMOE's new fabrication yard in Batam, Indonesia,
commenced operations. The yard, which is SMOEs
first purpose-built facility in the Asia Pacific,
will support SMOE's projects for the international
market and its expansion in the Indonesian oil and

SembUtilities acquired additional stakes in SUT
Sakra, SembCorp Cogen (SembCogen) and SembCorp Gas
(SembGas) for a total cash consideration of S$184
million. Following the acquisition, SembUtilities
has 100% control of SUT Sakra and SembCogen and
70% control of SembGas. This will allow SembUtilities
the flexibility to consolidate its profitable Singapore-based
operations.
SembLogs joint venture with Orix Corporation
received approval from the Japanese courts for its
proposed acquisition of Footwork Express. |
