Global Presence

Over at SembCorp Industries, we believe firmly in supporting and growing together with our clients. Over the years, we have expanded around the world, to be there where the clients need us most.

Latin America
SembCorp Marine operates the Mauá Jurong Shipyard, which is strategically located in Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This positions us closer to the offshore and conversion markets of the Gulf of Mexico, South America and the West African region.

North America
Through strategic partner Kuehne & Nagel, SembCorp Logistics’ global supply chain network is extended to North America. Its presence spans throughout Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Europe
SembCorp Utilities expanded its presence to Europe with the strategic acquisition of the assets and business of Enron Teesside Operations in 2003. SembCorp Utilities UK substantially increases SembCorp Utilities’ overseas activities, in line with its strategy to derive an increasing proportion of revenue from outside Singapore.

Through its UK-based engineering consulting firm SembCorp Simon-Carves, SembCorp Engineers and Constructors’ presence extends to the United Kingdom, enhancing its capability mix to provide services in the process and plant engineering industry worldwide.

SembCorp Logistics is in a global partnership with Switzerland-based Kuehne & Nagel. The combined partnership has a global supply chain network of 700 locations in about 100 countries and more than 20,000 employees.

Asia-Pacific
In addition to our Singapore-based operations, our presence also extends to other countries in the Asia-Pacific:

SembCorp Utilities operates cogeneration plants in Australia, China and Vietnam. In 2003, SembCorp Utilities established its presence in two of China’s major petrochemical parks with a wastewater treatment plant in Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park and a cogeneration plant in Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park. Its offshore engineering division, SMOE, has subsidiary and associate companies operating in Malaysia, Indonesia and China.

SembCorp Engineers and Constructors began operating in China in 1998. It is responsible for some notable commercial, residential and industrial building projects there and its joint-venture company in Shanghai is accredited with a Class A licence, which enables it to undertake projects of any size or complexity.

SembCorp Environmental Management’s Australian associate company, SITA Environmental Solutions is the second largest environmental management company in Australia. In 2003, SembCorp Environmental Management set up a joint venture with Shanghai Sincere to tap into China’s waste collection business. It also has another joint venture with Consolidated Plantations, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sime Darby, to design, build, own and operate a biomass waste-to-energy plant in Malaysia.

SembCorp Logistics is Asia’s largest integrated service provider with operations spanning Australia, Azerbaijan, China (including Hong Kong), India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and United Arab Emirates.
